One Hundred Push Up Challenge

I did say I was planning a Summer of Experimenting right? Very badly in need of some core work at this time! I’ve been mixing in p90X Ab Ripper..but wanted something to work towards to keep me accountable. Enter the One Hundred Pushup Challenge!

The goal of this challenge is to complete 100 consecutive pushups. I saw a few weeks back that Jesse at Run To the Border had started this and checked into it. Then I forgot about it, but came across it again last week. I read through it and seems like a good goal to strive to! I did my initial test over the weekend and figured I can do 10 ‘good form’ pushups or about 15 ‘alternative pushups’. You can also do Knuckle push ups, Bench push ups or Wall push ups to build core strength. The different push ups are outlined on the website for the challenge. There are also several apps to that can be downloaded to most Smart Phones to keep track of the sets easily.

I completed Week 1 Day 2 yesterday and can definitely feel it in my core. I like the challenge because you can do it just about anywhere. A strong core is key to god running form and this summer its all about working toward good running form!

So if you need to charge up your core work..give it shot and let me know what you think. Or if you have already started how it going so far?

  1. Hmmm, I guess since you posted my name on your blog, I should probably get back on the pushup bandwagon. I fell off last Sunday.

  5. Good for you! I see on dailymile you are doing well. I do core and upper body work 3 times a week but don't have it in me to tackle this right now.
