Yes, its been a very busy October so far and it’s barely a week into this month! October always gets busy!
First off its Hubby’s Birthday month!! My October baby always ushers in some wonderful weather. We typically don’t go all out for birthdays, but try to do something special! We kicked off his month by Halloween Haunting the night away!
All this wonderful weather equals perfect running weather, so of course plenty of races this month! I’ve done one short one and then IN JUST 16 DAYS will be taking on my first 50k! I’m nervous as I’ve not logged a major long run as yet; but feel slightly better about this as my foot is feeling better and I’ve been able to log back to back 10milers and almost 10milers and worked on running on tired legs. So figuring it’s better than nothing and hoping my head won’t get the better of me in the ‘long run’!
But before both of those events, I have my annual technology conference. Last year we were in Ft.Lauderdale and I I was on my feet pretty much all week, but thankfully didn’t have a major race coming up! This year we are in New Orleans and I’ve got a week of conference work, about 8 days to recover from it and then off to the Ozarks for the 50k! I am hoping to squeeze in a few runs in while away, but pretty sure the tired legs part will happen regardless! Getting some workouts in while staying well hydrated and eating well will be a challenge! Yeah..didn’t quite plan that out very well! Oh well!!

Of course cannot forget Good Luck to my dear Fair Weather Runner who will be taking on Prairie Fire Half Marathon with a hip in recovery. Good Luck my friend and I’m sending you happy hippy thoughts!!

I’ll be sure to have extra celebratory Hurricane (or two) in your honor this weekend! After all, I am supposed to stay hydrated right?!!!
